哈勒华人基督团契Chinesisch Christliche Gemeinde Halle

Chinese Christian Fellowship · Halle (Saale)

In the city of salt —
the salt of the earth.

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?” — Matthew 5:13

We are a Chinese Christian fellowship on the Saale — students, scholars and families walking together in faith. Whether you have walked with Christ for years or are simply exploring the gospel, you are warmly invited.

You are the salt of the earth · Matthew 5:13

Halle has been the city of salt for a thousand years —fitting soil for a people whom Jesus calls“the salt of the earth.”

Week by week we gather to worship the triune God, to hear the Scriptures preached, to pray, and to share a meal. What we believe is the faith the whole church has confessed for two thousand years — and Wittenberg, where the Reformation began, is only a short journey away. Whether you have known Christ for years or are simply curious, you are welcome.

Handel's Hallelujah

“Hallelujah:
for the Lord God Omnipotent
reigneth.”

Revelation 19:6

George Frideric Handel, Halle's greatest son, wrote this “Hallelujah” into his Messiah — and gave it to the world. His monument stands on the Marktplatz, between the towers of the Marktkirche. This city gave the world the Hallelujah; here we gather week by week to give it back to God.

Halle, and what we believe

  • Salt of the earth

Halle is the thousand-year city of salt — the Halloren, the brine beneath the streets. Jesus calls his disciples “the salt of the earth” (Mt 5:13).

  • Hallelujah

Halle's son Handel wrote Messiah and carried the “Hallelujah” to the whole world.

  • Living water

The Saale shapes this city — an image of the “rivers of living water” (Jn 7:38).

  • Reformation

Luther once preached beneath the Marktkirche's blue towers; this city is deeply shaped by the Reformation.

  • Luther University

The Martin Luther University's very name binds Halle to Wittenberg, where the Reformation began.
